Who We Are
Service Professionals is a family-owned home services company serving North Jersey. We handle plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical — and we don't consider the job done until the customer gives us their thumbs up.
We're not a franchise or a national chain. We're local, we're growing, and we're looking for people who want to grow with us.
What We Offer
Starting pay is $17–$23/hr depending on experience. High performers will advance to get their own truck and become eligible for uncapped bonuses. The path is real, and it starts here.
Competitive Pay: We benchmark against the industry & aim for the top performance pay in the region.
Full Benefits: Health & dental covered including deductibles. 401k with Basic Capital for full-time staff.
Modern Tools: Your own phone, iPad, GPS, and uniforms. We use ServiceTitan and invest in technology that makes the job easier, not harder.
Recognition: We notice effort. Hard work gets rewarded — financially and culturally.
A Real Career Path: This isn't a dead-end job. We promote from within and build development plans for people who want to move up.
We Respect Your Life: We understand things come up. We support our people through the real stuff, not just the work stuff.
Who You Are
You don't need to know everything yet. You need to be the kind of person who wants to learn and shows up ready to work.
You're hands-on. You've always been the person who wants to understand how things work — probably because you've taken them apart.
You're comfortable with technology. This isn't an old-school shop. You'll use an iPad every day, and we expect you to embrace that.
You do the job right even when nobody's watching. We don't tolerate shortcuts — we build good habits from day one.
You're someone people trust. You're the kind of person anyone would send to their mother's house without a second thought.
You're physically up for it. This is manual labor — crawl spaces, ladders, lifting, long days on your feet.
What You Know
We train on the job for this role, so it's okay if you're just getting started. What we do expect:
You can communicate clearly with your team — dispatch, your manager, the warehouse. Promptly and professionally.
You're fluent in English.
You're willing to learn how to handle customer-facing situations and build your skills over time.
If you already have some experience in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC — even better. But it's not required.
What Will You Do
You'll ride along with experienced technicians and learn how we do things — our processes, our standards, and our approach to customer service. As you develop, you'll take on more responsibility.
Early on, that looks like:
Assisting senior techs on residential service and install calls.
Learning to use our tools, software, and inventory systems.
Handling basic tasks on the job — setup, cleanup, material runs, and hands-on work under supervision.
Building your technical knowledge across your trade every single day.
The goal is to get you running calls on your own. How fast that happens is largely up to you.
We Are An Equal Opportunity Employer
Service Professionals is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, or genetic information. Service Professionals is committed to providing access, equal opportunity, and reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities in employment, its services, programs, and activities.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
This is a hands-on job. You'll regularly sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and stoop. You'll work with your hands, climb ladders, and spend time in crawl spaces, attics, and basements — in both hot and cold conditions depending on the season. You'll need to lift 50+ lbs regularly and have close-range vision with the ability to adjust focus.
What Happens After You Apply
After submitting your application, you'll be invited to a short chat with our recruiter. It takes about 10–15 minutes and helps us get to know you faster. Then, you'll meet with a department manager and potentially be asked to shadow a technician in the field. Finally, you will have to complete a background check (criminal & motor vehicle).
